Laney turned 11 months on Christmas Day.

Ten Months

Laney's turned 10 months on the day of Grandma and Grandpa Prichard's 40th anniversary celebration in Pittsburgh during Thanksgiving weekend. She was on her first day of antibiotics ever for an ear infection and had been generally miserable and clingy all week, so she wasn't terribly sociable during the party. For the first half of the party she wore a mint green shimmery dress with a velvet bodice and ribbons/flowers hanging down over the skirt. For the second half I changed her into a blue and white pantsuit from the 70's that my mom had made (along with a matching dress that she had).

Laney's 10 month stats:

wears 12 month clothes
size 3 diapers
says uh-oh, daddy, Owie, and hi
has 6 teeth and getting 2 more
about 20.5 pounds and 29 inches or so

Nine months old!

Laney turned 9 months two weeks ago and is not looking back! She loves exploring, pulls up on everything, cruises a little with people and furniture, and puts EVERYTHING in her mouth! She keeps us on our toes for sure!
Laneygirl:
you weigh 20 lbs. 0.1 oz, are 28 inches long (both 75th percentile), wear mostly size 12 mo. clothes and size 2 shoes i think.
you say "uh-oh" when you drop something, say "hi", "daddy" and this weekend said "owen" several times. You are a smiler and have lots of fun faces. you also growl a lot! so cute! you like playing patty cake, itsy bitsy spider, and peek a boo. love you!

Sibling Fun- Oct. 6

Owen loves on Laney all the time. She loves him a bunch too! Here you can see her a week or so after turning 8 months so you can see how she really moves around now!

Eight months!

Laney girl you are eight months old! You love using your toothbrush on your two front teeth and you are feisty! You have started pulling up on furniture this week and walking a little with us. You sleep from 8 pm to 5 am (or around there) then sleep again til 7 after you eat. You love to eat puffs (we started last weekend) and enjoy all food (still purees) Your latest foods are apricots and lentils. You love your brother and scoot around (mostly army crawl, some hands and knees) the house pretty quickly. You say mama, dada, and uh-oh. You love the bathtub and the water. You are wearing 9 month clothes mostly (some 6-9 mo. still). We
love you lots!

Seven months!

You are a mover and a shaker at seven months! You love to scoot around and rock back and forth on your hands and knees. You are about 17 lbs. 15 oz. and wearing 6-9 mo. and some 9 months clothes. You are still in a size 2 diaper but moving up to 3 very soon! You are smiley and toothy and happy and LOVE people and people's faces. Owen makes you laugh and smile and he can actually pick you up a little now.

Six Months

Six months old- hands down one of my favorite times (along with 16-18 months) Laney girl you are so sweet and smiley. Happy six months old. Here is what is up with you:

*75th percentile for height (26.25") and weight (17 lb. .06 oz), 50th for head circumference (42 cm)
*size 2 diapers
*size 6 mo. clothes
*you roll (mostly front to back) and do this funny scoot on your back where you lift your bum and scoot on your heels
*you sleep 8:30 p to 7 a but still feed once or twice a night. now that we've got brother sleep trained, you are next! Hope to accomplish dropping the night feedings altogether by the time I start back to work in 2 1/2 weeks.
*you try to lift your head a lot, even when sitting in a swing or carseat or lying down
*you are a mouther! love to eat books and anything! I got a mommy bling teething necklace just for this reason.
*it is time to childproof again. since O. never mouthed much we didn't have to worry so much with him.
*you started cereal about 2 weeks ago and avocado over the weekend. Tomorrow we will start butternut squash. You also get a little water and are cup training. you love the water!
*you take 2-3 naps a day (usually 3)
*You talk a lot and have a loud booming voice!

Can't wait to see what this month brings!

Exhale

We have been back from our trip for a week and a half and I am finally exhaling. From unpacking to the long weekend to a week of driving miles and miles in hopes of getting my kids to nap it has just been nonstop. Today we stopped. I came home from a funeral at noon and we are just here. Eating, breathing, trying out the potty. And my daughter naps in the crib while my busy boy searches for his ukelele. And I have time to load a picture or two. Because goodness knows I fall asleep when they do and wake up when they do, there just aren't any minutes. But all you moms know that. So here I am with a few outtakes of Laney's five month pix from the sidebar down the right side of the blog. I've been taking her pic in the same chair since week 3; this month's outfit is special because I wore it as a baby too. Here are some of the others I took that day:

4 months old

Laneygirl,

You are 4 months old now and a pure delight! You weighed in at 15 pounds, 4 oz and measured 25.75 inches! wow! I had to put away most of the 3-6 months clothes this week and take out the 6 month stuff. You are big! You have the biggest smile to match, such a cute giggle, and LOTS to say! This past week you have started grabbing stuff (plates, cans, whatever is within reach) and you have held small toys and your bottle for a couple of weeks now. You are almost ready to roll - you do get to your side pretty well but not all the way over yet. You eat three pumped feedings (5 oz. each) and about 3 other feedings per day. You sleep from 8 pm to 7 am and usually wake up around 1:30 A.M. to eat but sometimes you skip this and feed at 4:30 A.M. This month you took you first plane trip to Michigan for a family wedding and also went to your first birthday party when Alice turned one year old. That will be you before we know it! Now we are busy winding down the school year so momma can spend summer with you! We are preparing for our big trip to see Gramp in Costa Rica. So glad I will get to spend the next 2 months with you every day. We love you so much Laneygirl.

Three months

You are a sweetie pie! Your smile and giggle light up the room. You love your paci and have slept 8 hours through the night the last four nights. (!) Your brother loves you to pieces and delights in helping give you a bath, hold you, give you kisses "I dis knees." "I dis nose." and generally love on you. You wear 3-6 months clothes and weigh over 13 pounds. You can hold your head steady and have very strong legs too. Yesterday I put you down for tummy time and when I turned back around you were on your back! I miss you so much during the day but I know you are in the best of hands.

Tia Jean arrived the night before Laney turned two months and we took advantage of daylight to grab these shots. Delaney is wearing an outfit sent by Aunt Linda and Uncle Chris (and family!) Such sweet pictures.

two months!

Laneybug you are two months old already! We can hardly believe our eyes. It seems that in the past week you have shifted from tiny flailing newborn who needed shushing and white noise (thank god for the iphone) to baby baby, a chubby-cheeked little creature full of girliness, with a strong head and stronger legs, alert and watchful eyes, sweet (real!) smiles that light up your face when you recognize the face in front of you, and the most adorable cooing that melts momma's heart. Owen has shortened your name (since this past Saturday) from Laney to "nee". He is most insistent about it so we will see if that sticks for him.

Dear Laney,

Your brother Owen cares so much for you and brings momma your diaper, your wipes and once last week he saw some dribble on your chin and ran from the room, only to return with a washcloth from his changing table. He climbed up on the bed and promptly started wiping your chin. He loves to hold you on the couch in the living room, and climbs up and plumps the pillows on top of him to give you a comfy spot. He worries when you cry and likes to comment on your little parts. "nee, hand." "nee, eyes." etc. He loves to hug on you and give you kisses.

You have hit 12 pounds and wear a size 1-2 diaper. You wear mostly zip- up footy sleepers but you have so many adorable outfits momma needs to dress you up and take you out! You can wear some 0-3 month clothes but mostly stick to 3 months now. 3-6 are still a little big.

Your nicknames include Laneybug, Nee (Owen), Laner, and LaneyLu.

You use a paci sometimes and we gave it to you at 3 1/2 weeks old.

You have a sweet little bleat at night that makes you sound like a baby goat.

We started using Tagamet March 3 to help with your pain and spitting up. You screamed and arched your back a lot. momma also stopped drinking milk mid-feb and that seems to make a difference too. I missed a dose overnight and now you've hust thrown up twice since your feeding at 6 am.

You've bee using pumped milk in a bottle for a little over two weeks and take between 3-4 oz. every three-four hours. You cluster feed every 1 1/2-2 hours in the evening when momma gets home ( i started back to work March 16.) and then sleep 4-5 hour stretches with a feeding between 2-3 am usually.

You have very long fingers and very long toes and we think we finally figured out where your sweet nose came from!



This is my dad's sister Cynthia. (Aunt Susie). Lots of similarities!
